Mott Haven Ballet
About Us

Jessica Epting
Founder, Principal Faculty
Jessica Epting's goal is to create and inspire a love for ballet in all of her students while promoting a high standard of excellence. In her classes students learn classical ballet including all the French terminology, and ballet history. Miss J’s students learn that challenging themselves both physically and mentally is one of the many joys of ballet and dance!
Jessica Epting received her classical ballet training on full scholarship at the Omaha Academy of Ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) training methods. Mrs. Epting performed with Creighton University’s Company of Dancers, Omaha Modern Dance Collective, and Central Dance Theater.
In 1995, she founded En L’Air Dance Academy in Omaha, NE where she served as the director and master teacher for six years. She has served as a principal faculty member teaching classical ballet at Omaha Academy of Ballet (Omaha, NE), Metropolitan Ballet Theater (Rockville, MD), Ballet Royale Academy (Columbia, MD), NewDance (Rye, NY) Ballet Hispanico (New York, NY), Ballet Arts (Pelham, NY), Boden Performing Arts Center (New York, NY) and The D’Valda and Sirico Dance Centre (Fairfield, CT).
In 2013 Mrs. Epting founded Mott Haven Ballet in an effort to supply high quality ballet training to the underserved children of her community free of charge. The program is run on a volunteer basis. Mrs. Epting trained on full scholarships for most of her childhood, and makes it her goal to share her passion and return the gift of dance that was once given to her.
Jessica is currently on the teaching staff at Broadway Dance Center’s Children and Teen Program (New York, NY). Mrs. Epting teaches as a guest master teacher for such conventions as Broadway Dance Center’s Teacher Workshop & Absolute Beginner Workshop, Dance Teacher Web Conference, and International Teachers of Dance.
